Our lawn care services in Pontefract cover all the essential lawn care treatments your lawn could ever need and many more additional treatments which you can learn about below and on the lawn care pages throughout the website. If you are new to lawn care we highly recommend our seasonal treatment programme. Because of our years of gardening and lawn care experience we have managed to perfect a lawn care treatment like no other. It can be applied throughout the seasons with each lawn care treatment designed to feed and maintain your lawn through one season into the next one. In fact it’s so effective, we even change the treatments slightly each year as the seasons change but rest assured the key ingredients remain the same. These said ingredients help to fight disease, create the most optimum growing conditions and keep your lawn healthy the whole year round.
ST1: We introduce an application of herbicide in the spring which control’s early flowering weeds. This works alongside our usual dose of essential nutrients and turf conditioners as well as nitrogen for early growth. It will improve the health and look of the lawn throughout the spring season.
ST2: The summer lawn care treatment consists of an application of liquid herbicide and fertiliser which contains essential nutrients for your lawn including phosphorous and potassium. This will feed your grass and encourage critical root development.
ST3: The autumn lawn care treatment is similar to the summer treatment with high potassium and phosphorous fertiliser content but we combine this with a dose of moss control too. This has the benefit of improving the root development of your lawn which will lead to strong and healthy growth while keeping moss growth at bay.
ST4: Due to the nature of the weather in winter, lawns are usually left damp and due to this we apply a much stronger dose of moss control alongside with our phosphorous and potassium feed to improve the health of the grass roots, keeping moss at bay and grass strong. We also introduce our winter application which has the benefit of greening up the lawn and keeping your lawn healthy throughout the winter months.

Lawn renovations are vital to keep a lawn at optimum levels of health, so we recommend you carry this out at least once a year. Lawn renovations typically include; scarification, aeration (hollow or solid tine), top dressing and over seeding. You can think of this process a bit like transforming an old barn into a new modern home; your lawn will look as a good as new after around 8-12 weeks and it’s health will have vastly improved.
Scarification is the process of raking thatch and moss out the lawn which will have the benefit of instantly improving any soil surface drainage issues whilst aeration will improve oxygen, nutrients and moisture flow to the grass roots improving the health of the grass almost immediately. After scarification and aeration has been carried out we would then recommend applying top dressing and over seeding to the lawn which keeps the soil in optimum health and increases the recovery rate.
We can carry out of all the above garden & lawn renovation services in Pontefract and you would like to find out more about the process and cost of this, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Japanese knotweed can be particularly tough to remove as it thrives in most conditions and can even penetrate building foundations. Its rhizome system is very similar to the roots of a tree spreading up to 7 meters from where the infestation first began and this causes particular problems for those selling or buying a property. The problems caused by Japanese Knotweed can be so serious, that a survey which finds the weed within 7 meters of a property can cause bank/lenders to decline loans and mortgages unless the weed is being treated by a professional Japanese Knotweed contractor, like us. So if you have any concerns or issues with the treatment and eradication of Japanese Knotweed then please visit our dedicated page on the weed or give us a call on 01977 710 990!
